Lisa Faulkner Wright was born a fourth generation Californian. Lisa received Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Sacramento, then her passion for ceramic sculpture and printmaking took her to the University of Wisconsin Madison where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree.
Lisa paints primarily in the landscape and still life genres in a contemporary realist style.
She applies the concepts of pictorial geometry in order to create the illusion of real space within the painting. She paints out on location and in her studio in Las Vegas. She works in several media, including watercolor, alkyd and oil. When she concentrates on watercolor she is enjoying the medium’s range of transparent to opaque properties and the subsequent luminosity of the painted scene.
